About Me
Hello! I'm Haider Ali, a data science Master's student with a background in biomedical engineering. My journey began in the world of healthcare technology, where I developed a fascination for how data and machine learning can drive innovation and improve lives. Now, I'm actively learning and exploring the fields of data science and AI, eager to apply my skills to solve real-world problems.
Some of my other hobbies and interests include hiking, reading, and exploring new technologies. I also have a home server which hosts various projects and services!

Featured Projects
Here are a few things I've been working on.

Quran AI Bot
An AI chatbot for deep Quranic study. This project was my way to explore the power of large language models (LLM's) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. It is still a work in progress but is capable of answering context-aware questions based on Quran text and commentary. Click this card to check out the demo! Blog post coming soon.
Low-Cost Medical Device & Dashboard
As part of my undergraduate capstone project, I designed a low-cost medical device to measure blood gas parameters using a Raspberry Pi. I collected clinical sensor data via GPIO (I2C and UART), stored it locally in SQLite, and displayed it live on a Flask web dashboard. This project honed my skills in data acquisition, data storage, and real-time visualization. I also got hands on experience with hardware integration, unit testing, and working with stakeholders. We used Gantt charts to manage scope and timelines, and UML diagrams to support clinical decision-making.
